The Media Ecosystem Observatory at McGill University is seeking applications for a part-time junior analyst position with expertise in collecting and analyzing qualitative data on the Canadian information ecosystem. The candidate will be joining the Observatory at a stimulating time of growth and expansion and will help drive a growing research agenda through data collection and review. The successful applicant will have: experience collecting, labeling, and analyzing data to answer social scientific research questions communication skills to coordinate with team members to build a consistent dataset basic familiarity with the Canadian media ecosystem experience working with social media data, including designing, collecting, managing, sharing, and analyzing data in an efficient manner The successful applicant may have: the ability to communicate effectively in French Specific duties: Under the direction of the Media Ecosystem Observatory leadership, the successful candidate will be expected to fulfill the following duties: Extend the seedlist used in the Canadian information ecosystem analysis by collecting and analyzing data on relevant entities; Communicate findings with team members, receive feedback, and converge on defensible conclusions; Provide general support to the Centre’s research activities where needed.
