JOB SUMMARY
The Senior Field Service Technician is a seasoned professional responsible for leading the most complex and large-scale installations, commissioning, and maintenance of our NITROCENTER® nitrogen generation systems. This role serves as a technical leader, mentor, and supervisor to the field service team, ensuring the highest standards of quality, safety, and customer satisfaction. The Senior Technician will be a primary technical expert on critical deployments, provide on-site training, and offer valuable insights for continuous product improvement. Exceptional technical expertise, leadership, supervisory, and communication skills are essential for success in this role. As a member of our technical services team, the Senior Field Service Technician thrives in a collaborative environment and understands the importance of delivering a premium experience to all Purity Gas clients.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead and manage large-scale and complex field service appointments with customers.
Perform advanced diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repairs on our most complex systems, including those requiring remote assistance.
Act as a primary on-site technical expert for high-profile clients and critical deployments.
Supervise, mentor, and provide hands-on training to junior and intermediate Field Service Technicians, including performance and team development.
Provide updates on service schedules and respond to customer inquiries, ensuring clear and professional communication.
Create and maintain accurate and detailed records in the CRM system (assets, jobs, quotes, etc.).
Collaborate with internal teams, including the Operations team and engineering, to provide field-based insights for product enhancements.
Prepare and send service quotes for complex repairs, maintenance, and installations.
Monitor service metrics and report job status updates to management.
Adhere to all safety protocols and regulatory standards.
Assist with special projects and strategic initiatives as assigned.
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
A recognized college diploma or Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
A Certified Maintenance and Reliability Professional (CMRP) certification is an asset.
Minimum of 10 years of experience as a Field Service Technician, with a proven track record of managing complex deployments and supervisory responsibility.
Previous experience in the compressed gas industry or a related field is mandatory.
Possession of a Trade Certificate is mandatory (millwright or electrician is an asset).
Knowledge of refrigeration systems is an asset.
Proven experience in a leadership, mentorship, and supervisory capacity.
Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate complex technical information effectively to both customers and team members.
Experience in preparing and presenting service quotes and related documentation for large-scale service projects.
Proficient in CRM and service management software (Salesforce an asset).
Excellent organizational, multitasking, and problem-solving abilities.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping.
Fluent in English (written and oral).
Fluent in French (written and oral) is an asset.
Able to travel to the United States and internationally if required
Must maintain legal and medical travel requirements while employed
Must have a valid Ontario driver's license with a satisfactory driver's abstract.
WORK CONDITIONS
Regular full-time hours (37.5+ hours per week), 5 days per week with the ability to work overtime and on-call, when required
Workplace locations to include customer sites and Purity Gas head office
Extensive travel to client sites is a core requirement of this role
