Status: Casual / On-Site
Pay Rate: $27/hour
Role Summary
As a Casual Security Guard, you will support site operations by maintaining a safe and secure environment for personnel, facilities, and equipment. This includes patrols, monitoring for hazards, access control, emergency response, and customer service.
What You’ll Do
Apply decision-making and communication skills in daily security and safety tasks.
Ensure compliance with Safety and Emergency Procedures and Post Orders.
Undertake site-specific training; follow direction from the Client Service Manager/Supervisor.
Conduct traffic and pedestrian control at access points.
Patrol assigned areas (on foot or vehicle) to maintain security of buildings, personnel, and equipment.
Report irregularities such as breaches, hazards, or emergencies.
Provide assistance to individuals in need and contact emergency responders when required.
Maintain confidentiality and integrity in data handling.
Respond to inquiries professionally, utilizing radio and computer systems.
Promote workplace safety and inspire professionalism among colleagues.
Must-Have Criteria
Must be willing to travel.
Must drive.
Must live within 1.5 hours of Fort Vermilion.
Additional Requirements
Availability for a variety of shifts, including overnights and weekends.
Ability to obtain Alberta Security Licence.
Valid Class 5 licence and own vehicle.
Strong communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
Ability to write detailed reports and maintain site logs.
Composure in emergency situations and decision-making under pressure.
Discretion handling confidential information.
Physically fit — able to walk 18–20 km and climb stairs.
Legally authorized to work in Canada.
