JOB SUMMARY
The primary role of a Housekeeper is to maintain the cleanliness and orderliness of the facility and its surroundings. This includes basic and periodic cleaning tasks, the safe and effective use of various cleaning solvents and chemicals etc., and adherence to a set cleaning schedule. This position in particular is for our graveyard shift and requires availability to work between 10pm and 7am.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Responsible for performing a variety of cleaning activities such as sweeping, mopping, dusting and polishing, laundry services, emergency housekeeping when accidents occur
Follow cleaning schedule (daily, weekly, monthly, etc.) as outlined for housekeeping department
Check stock levels of all consumables and replace when appropriate, monitor cleaning supplies and order more as needed
Clean and sanitize toilets, countertops, sinks
Washing windows, vacuuming and cleaning carpets and rugs
Effectively and safely use a variety of cleaning equipment including various cleaning solvents, chemicals etc. in compliance with Occupational Health & Safety requirements
Empty trash receptacles and dispose of waste
Support event setup and takedown
Report any necessary repairs or replacements
Perform all other duties as required
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position reports directly to the Manager, Housekeeping and does not require any supervisory responsibilities.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND ABILITIES
Minimum of 1 year housekeeping experience required
Completion of secondary school (grade 12) at the start of employment required
Able to lift up to 40 lbs
Must be personable, friendly and outgoing with excellent customer service skills
Maintaining a professional appearance with a positive attitude
Adaptable, flexible, patient, helpful and interested in the welfare of guests and staff
Great attention to detail and works well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
Follows staff conduct policies and time management guidelines
Organized and able to prioritize workload
Able to multi-task for the benefit of quality services
Able to work efficiently and independently with minimal supervision
Able to work on feet and work both indoors and outdoors
WORKING CONDITIONS
Hours of Operation are weather dependant. Due to the nature of the business, this position requires flexibility in terms of your work schedule. A variety of work schedules may include a variety of start times, including shifts on weekends and statutory holidays. Shifts require standing for long periods of time, lifting, twisting, and other forms of manual tasks. This position also requires the safe handling of cleaning chemicals.
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
$18.86 to $23.76/hour
