Job Description: Position Summary Under the supervision of the Capital Works Supervisor, the incumbent is responsible for maintaining contracted assets (Bridges, culverts, roadways, medians, signs, guardrails, fences, tunnels, vegetation, etc.) per standards and conditions specified in the contract. Primary Duties and Responsibilities Winter Season Removal of snow and ice by using snow removal and/or sanding equipment. Summer Season Clean, Maintain and repair: bridges, culverts, shoulders, signs, guiderail and other highway inventory. Operate vehicles and equipment as required: for surface and right-of-way maintenance and repair of bridges, culverts, shoulders, etc. As Required Traffic control setup and removal in accordance with OTM Book 7 Transport crew and equipment to work sites Be available for emergency response rotations as needed for overtime, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Other duties as assigned by the Contract Manager. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Skill in the operation of company/rental tools and equipment. Ability to effectively communicate Ability to perform basic math skills, such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Highly developed sense of safety awareness and perceptive ability. Ability to recognize hazards inherent in routine and non-routine tasks and make adjustments to avoid loss, injury or accident. Ability to communicate with co-workers/subcontractors, understand and follow verbal and written safety instructions. Ability to think clearly and focus on your safety in your immediate surroundings, while using tools and equipment, while driving or operating equipment. You will be required to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) appropriate to your job. Education and Experience High School Diploma / GED required Minimum of three (3) years related work experience in bridge/road construction and maintenance (outdoor work -Preferred) Valid minimum DZ driver’s license required and a good driving record to drive company vehicle.
