Job Description
CEDA is hiring Boat Operators at our Fort McMurray location! You will provide on water support moving equipment and personnel on the pond as required ensuring processes are run efficiently.
This position is ideal for someone who is mechanically inclined, and has experience operating boats in an industrial environment. Key Duties and Responsibilities
You will report directly to the client taking direction from them on how to prioritize on water activities
Ensuring vessel is equipped with all the relevant safety equipment and good housekeeping is maintained daily
Performing small engine maintenance such as checking/adding oils and tightening loose fittings
Taxiing operators and other personnel to the Dredges and Barges on the pond
Moving, towing, and anchoring Dredges and Barges around the pond
Assisting with pipeline rig-ins and rig-outs on Dredges and Barges
Role Specifications
1+ years of experience operating boats in an industrial environment is required
Experience with pumps or dredging is an asset
Experience working around tailings operations is an asset
Marine Emergency Duties (A1 or A3) licence required
Small Vessel Operator (SVOP) training required
Valid Class 5 licence with a clean abstract
Valid CSO certification (or combination of CSTS-09 and OSSA Regional or BSO)
Able to work independently in a busy environment
Comfortable working around water
Able to provide a negative pre-employment drug and alcohol test

Strong mechanical aptitude
You are safety focused when it comes to people and equipment
Computers are your friend, not your enemy
Perform physically demanding work - able to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis
Work outdoors in harsh weather conditions
You’re happiest working in a team, sharing a laugh with your coworkers and getting the job done safely
