Role
The Electrical Engineering Co-op Student position at Rising Edge Group is designed for students who are currently enrolled in an Electrical Engineering program or related field. The co-op student will gain hands-on experience while working under the guidance of experienced engineers and participate in various projects related to electrical systems design, analysis, and implementation. Preference for students looking for longer term co-op positions (8-16 months).
Responsibilities
Assist in the design and development of electrical systems for various projects, including Transmission and Distribution, Power generation, Industrial, and Renewables sectors.
Support senior engineers with project documentation, including schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical reports.
Contribute to the analysis of electrical systems and prepare relevant calculations and technical documents.
Participate in site visits and assist with project coordination among teams and stakeholders.
Help perform testing and commissioning of electrical systems under senior supervision.
Develop technical skills by engaging with various tools and software utilized in electrical engineering.
Work collaboratively with engineers and other team members to contribute to project success.
Qualifications
Currently enrolled in a Diploma or Degree program in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
Strong academic background in electrical concepts and principles.
Familiarity with electrical engineering design software and tools is an asset.
Good problem-solving skills and the ability to work proactively on assigned tasks.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively in a team environment.
Ability to manage time efficiently and work on multiple tasks simultaneously.
Willingness to learn and take initiative in a professional setting.
Must be eligible for co-op work placement as per the program requirements.
