About the Role:
This role reports to the Director, Enterprise Architecture. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing software and systems that will be used throughout the Corus organization. The software developed will range from helper applications to critical systems operating parts of the core of our business.
You will contribute by:
Create well commented, reliable and maintainable code that achieves the design goals in an efficient manner.
Be involved in planning sessions and provide solutions that help the business achieve its goals.
Create accurate documentation for created code and maintain the documentation throughout the update process.
Stay abreast of current development trends and understand new development tools.
Use “best practice” code development practices that result in a stable and easy to maintain code base.
Be able to provide realistic development timelines, and stay within the agreed upon timeframe.
Create code that suits an agile development cycle so feature requests or enhancements can be implemented in a reasonable timeframe.
Provide escalated support for applications you develop and those developed by other programmers.
Be willing to learn new development technologies.
Skills and experience you will bring:
Proficient in C#, and/or Python is required. Must have good knowledge of programming ecosystems.
Ability to program in JavaScript and its associated libraries ( jQuery) and frameworks ( AngularJS).
Basic workable knowledge with HTML and CSS.
Skill for writing reusable libraries.
Familiar with various design and architectural patterns.
Knowledge of concurrency patterns.
Proficient in writing solid, set based queries in SQL.
Understanding fundamental design principles behind a scalable application.
Creating database schemas that represent and support business processes.
Implementing automated testing platforms and unit tests.
Workable understanding Git.
Able to write logical and well written documentation (document what you code).
Strong analytical skills.
Able to write clean Restful API specifications and implementations.
A passion for using and seeking out new tools and techniques.
A passion and deep understanding of technology and the media business.
