Job Description: POSITION PURPOSE SUMMARY: The Christmas Kettle Driver is responsible for delivering and picking-up kettles from various assigned locations as directed. ACCOUNTABILITIES: Accountabilities: Deliver and/or pick up kettle(s) from assigned locations in a timely manner. Deliver kettles to their final daily destination and help empty the kettle contents into the deposit bags. Create a drop off/ pick up schedule or follow the provided schedule. Greet staff/ clients/ volunteers/ public in a friendly and professional manner. Maintain daily mileage log. Perform other related duties as required. Working Conditions: This is a temporary position. Shifts may include days, afternoons, evenings, weekend shifts, and split shifts, Monday through Saturday. Applicable shifts include a ½ hour unpaid meal break. Flexibility in scheduling is required, as the hours may increase as per operational requirements. Required to wear appropriate Salvation Army identification. Ability to lift/move up to 20 lbs. (11.34 kgs) in a safe manner. EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS: Education, Qualifications and Certifications: Completed High School or equivalent Valid Ontario Class “G” Driver’s License, personal vehicle required and insurance, current copy of driver’s abstract for review and verification that is satisfactory to The Salvation Army, in its sole discretion, is required. Experience and Skilled Knowledge Requirements: Prior related experience is an asset. Skills and Capabilities: Excellent interpersonal skills, integrity, and adaptability. Participate as an active and responsible team member. Ability to work under pressure, work efficiently, follow instructions, and think independently Ability to represent the organization in a professional and engaging manner. Work in compliance with OH&S Act and Regulations and abide by The Salvation Army’s health and safety policies and procedures. Honest, courteous, and punctual; represent the organization in a positive, professional, and engaging manner. Treat the property of The Salvation Army with due care and caution. Attentive listening skills for supervision, coaching, and conflict resolution. Ability and willingness to undergo applicable screening and background checks successfully that are satisfactory to The Salvation Army, in its sole discretion (i.e., The Salvation Army Abuse Registry) and provide an original copy of a Background Check screening. Ability and willingness to develop an understanding and support for the mission and purpose of The Salvation Army in Canada and its implications as related to position responsibilities. Compensation: The target hiring range for this position is $17.60 to $20.64 with a maximum of $24.77. Placement in the salary range will be based on factors such as market conditions, internal equity, and candidate experience, skills, and qualifications relevant to the role.
