About the role We're looking for a Manager, Actuarial, to join our Underwriting Performance and Fundamentals team! In this role, you will work in close collaboration with business units across IFC (UK&I, US & Canada) that have opportunities to improve their performance. You will lead a team that analyze and form opinion on the profitability of different portfolios and assist in the development and deployment of action plan, with an objective of outperformance. What you'll do here: Support business unit with your technical expertise on various portfolio review and identify root causes of UW performance issues. Play a key role in the coordination between department involved in a performance action plan. Develop, in collaboration with the business unites, KPIs based on individual specifics strategies. Review results at IFC level to identify opportunities of outperformance. Join a team with many ways to innovate, have a great visibility and that will offer various and challenging opportunities. Manage the evaluation, development and coaching of members of their group to achieve the strategic objectives of the company. Manage the team’s activities by organizing, planning and controlling the optimal use of human, financial and material resources according to company strategies and budget planning. Manage and provide technical advice to the members of their group responsible for actuarial work and studies. Represent the actuarial function in various working groups/committees and act as a point of contact with other business units. What you bring to the table: Minimum of 7 years including 2 years of coaching (major asset). Strong skills and knowledge of actuarial techniques. Lead with vision and values. Planning and organization. Job-specific designation: Mathematics, Actuarial Science, FCAS an asset. For candidates located in Quebec, bilingualism is required considering the necessity to interact on a regular basis with English-speaking colleagues across the country. No Canadian work experience required however must be eligible to work in Canada.
