Roster: 7 days on 7 days off - 12 hour shifts, day shift and night shift rotations
About the role
The role of the Operator Cable Bolter is to provide ground support through installation of cable/multiple bolts and mesh combinations. You will be responsible for successfully completing all required training and demonstrating your capability to competently perform all required tasks in a safe manner at Red Lake Mine.
Key result areas in this role include:
Perform duties with skills acquired as Miner 2, 3, 4, and 5
Train and successfully demonstrate ability to operate and obtain required licensing (i.e. utility vehicle, cable bolter, MacLean bolter)
Perform tasks as directed under the direction of supervisor
Consistently work in a safe and conscientious manner
Comply with all safety procedures
Wear all required personal protective equipment
Observe experienced workers to gain and increase knowledge of methods, procedures, and performance standards
Report any unsafe conditions to your supervisor
Work in a healthy work environment with full support, cooperation and commitment to satisfy our operation’s goal of being accident-free
Comply with federal and provincial acts and regulations, and legal requirements
Adhere to all relevant corporate policies and procedures
Perform other duties as assigned
About you
As the Operator Cable Bolter, you will have a Grade 12 Highschool Diploma or GED, and you will have completed all relevant Common Core training modules.
It is also important that you have/ can demonstrate:
Ability to demonstrate competence to perform all skills acquired as Bolter Operator
Demonstrated ability of mining techniques, operating Maclean bolter or Cable bolter, and installation of ground support
Operating cable bolter and mixing cement to cement cable into drilled holes
Must be competent in reading mining prints and shooting lines Able to competently perform all skills progressively acquired to the level of Miner 2
Able to lead in a production heading
Good physical fitness with the ability to work in an underground environment
Competent communication abilities
Contribute to overall success of the team
Flexible, and willing to work on a rotational shiftwork basis
Hard working and conscientious
Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work and interact with others
Willing and able to follow instructions
Self-motivated
Willing to share knowledge and experienced with others
Able to work effectively alone and in a team environment
Flexible team player
