Project Walrus for Enterpise Risk KRI Architect from scratch - Design a revolutionary data platform with unlimited creative freedom Design Snowflake data models - Create scalable, optimized data warehouse schemas and structures Choose your tech stack - Implement cutting-edge technologies and set new industry standards Scale to enterprise - Build systems that will process petabytes and serve thousands of users Your vision, your legacy - This will be the platform that defines our data future DataIKU to Airflow Migration Lead the transformation of our entire workflow ecosystem from DataIKU to Apache Airflow Architect migration strategies that ensure zero downtime and seamless transitions Design sophisticated DAGs that will orchestrate complex data pipelines at scale Establish new standards for workflow development and deployment across the organization OpenShift Migration Spearhead the migration from traditional Linux VMs to modern OpenShift container platform Design microservices architecture that's scalable, resilient, and cloud-native Implement DevOps excellence with CI/CD pipelines and automated deployments Create the blueprint for enterprise containerization strategy Disaster Recovery Leadership - Build Unbreakable Systems Architect enterprise DR strategies that ensure business continuity under any scenario Design failover mechanisms with RTO/RPO targets that exceed industry standards Lead cross-functional teams in DR planning, testing, and implementation Become the go-to expert for system resilience and business continuity Technical Leadership & Mentorship - Shape Future Leaders Mentor and coach junior data engineers, accelerating their career growth Establish engineering culture of excellence, innovation, and continuous learning Lead technical decision-making across multiple high-impact projects Build world-class teams that other organizations will envy What do you need to succeed? Must-have: 5+ years of data engineering experience with 2+ years in leadership roles Hands-On Technical Excellence Develop sophisticated data pipelines using Python, SQL, and modern frameworks Implement monitoring and alerting systems that ensure SLO/SLI stayed within acceptable window. Expert-level Python and SQL skills with proven track record of complex implementations Apache Airflow. - DAG development, scheduling, monitoring, and troubleshooting OpenShift/Kubernetes expertise - container orchestration, deployments, and management Optimize performance of distributed systems processing massive data volumes Cross-Platform Mastery Orchestrate complex workflows in Apache Airflow with advanced DAG patterns Deploy containerized applications on OpenShift and Kubernetes platforms Disaster Recovery planning and implementation experience in enterprise environments Leadership & Collaboration Lead technical design sessions and architecture review boards Results-driven - track record of delivering complex projects on time and exceeding expectations Collaborate seamlessly with RBC teams including DevOps, Cloud Engineering, SRE, and QA teams Drive cross-functional initiatives ensuring alignment between data engineering and infrastructure teams Mentor team members through code reviews, pair programming, and knowledge sharing Drive project delivery using Agile methodologies and DevOps practices Collaborate with product teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions Facilitate knowledge sharing across RBC's engineering organization Nice to Have: Bachelor's/Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or related field Snowflake expertise - data modeling, warehousing, performance optimization, and SnowSQL proficiency DataIKU experience and understanding of migration strategies to modern platforms Leadership experience mentoring teams and driving technical initiatives Excellent communication skills - ability to explain complex concepts to diverse audiences What’s in it for you?
