Summary
The Senior Human Resources Business Partner (Sr. HRBP) plays a critical role in aligning people strategy with business goals. Serving as a trusted advisor to leadership, the Sr. HRBP provides strategic guidance on workforce planning, employee relations, talent management, and organizational effectiveness. This role balances long-term strategy with day-to-day HR support, ensuring business leaders are equipped with the tools and insights needed to drive performance, engagement, and growth across the organization
Primary Objectives of the Role
Partner with senior leaders to understand business priorities and design people strategies that support organizational goals.
Act as a strategic advisor on complex employee relations matters, ensuring compliance, fairness, and consistency while mitigating risk.
Lead workforce planning initiatives, including succession planning, talent development, and organizational design.
Support performance management processes, including goal setting, feedback, and development planning.
Champion diversity, equity, and inclusion by embedding practices that support a culture of belonging and collaboration.
Provide coaching and guidance to managers and employees, fostering leadership capability and employee engagement.
Monitor all employment practices to ensure CSN adheres to applicable federal, provincial, and local employment legislation.
Provide input into organizational structure changes, helping align human resources with business goals and growth plans.
Use HR metrics and analytics to drive data-informed decisions, track progress, and measure the impact of HR initiatives.
Collaborate with Centers of Excellence (e.g., Training & Development) to deliver integrated HR solutions.
Support change management initiatives, ensuring smooth transitions and high adoption of new processes, systems, or structures.
Stay up to date with employment law, industry trends, and best practices to ensure compliance and innovation in HR approaches.
Education and Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (Master’s degree or HR certification an asset).
5-7+ years of progressive HR experience, with at least 3 years in a Business Partner or Senior HRBP role supporting senior leadership.
Proven experience managing complex employee relations cases and advising on organizational change.
Strong track record in workforce planning, succession planning, and leadership development.
Experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic, and growing business environment preferred.
CHRP designation (or working toward it) is an asset.
Work Environment and Requirements
Ability to attend the Oakville, Ontario office on a regular (2-3 times per weeks) will be given preference
Open concept office environment.
Able to lift up to 25 pounds as needed
Travel requirements
Occasional travel may be required, including overnight stays
