Stewardship: We responsibly manage the resources entrusted to us. Position Purpose Summary: To assist Facilities Manager in day-to-day operations of the Community Services Centre properties. Accountabilities: Bread Run Pick up of bread & sweets from local grocers & remove stale items During bread run, responsible for safe delivery of internal mail within locations Transport any donations at the Church to the Thrift Store General Maintenance Address general maintenance concerns from Maintenance Request Forms Work with Supervisor on maintenance issues at the Offices, Centre & Group Homes, such as: Monthly check/replacement of furnace filters Pressure clean exterior of Centre building & parking lot seasonally Perform minor plumbing functions such as replacing toilet seats & faucets Minor patching of dry wall, & painting Door locks & closure repairs Furniture assembly/repairs (cabinets, desks, chairs etc.) in Community Services Centre as needed. Window & Blind repairs as needed. Cleaning around building. Winter- removal of snow, & salting service areas Summer- sweeping of service area Exterior garbage removal & replacement of bags Inspect for hazards, make report, & ensure repaired Assist Supervisor in ensuring vehicle documents in all vehicles are up to date Maintain air exchanger (replacement of filters when necessary) Maintenance and other related work, onsite & offsite Diefenbaker Do regular maintenance checks and repairs as requested and needed. Snow clearing and salting. Work with Supervisor to make sure Diefenbaker Group Home is maintained and safe for occupancy Other Support to Supervisor Trained to fill in when necessary (Supervisor’s Absence) Responsible for after hour emergency calls every second week Attend regular staff meetings. Responsible for transportation of Mailboxes to each Salvation Army office. Other duties as required CRITICAL RELATIONSHIP MANAGEMENT Governance Boards and Councils: Internal: Managers and supervisors of various properties and group homes External: Community partners such as groceries stores who donate food items MANAGERIAL/Technical Leadership RESPONSIBILITY: Reports directly to: Facilities Manager FINANCIAL AND MATERIALS MANAGEMENT: Responsible for any tools, equipment that may be used for repairs or maintenance WORKING CONDITIONS: Typical working conditions, indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions Some driving required Education, Qualifications and Certifications: Related maintenance education/ certificates would be an asset Experience and Skilled Knowledge Requirements Experience in maintenance responsibilities (i.e. power tools, electrical and plumbing systems). Skills and Capabilities: Dependable Friendly disposition First Aid/CPR Agree to be Bondable. Capable of lifting to 50lbs In good physical condition Current Alberta driver’s license (Class 5) Clean driver’s abstract Criminal record check with vulnerable sector Excellent communication skills This is a full time position at 40 hours per week. Target pay range is $30 per hour. Compensation: The target hiring range for this position is $25.29 to $31.62 with a maximum of $37.94. Placement in the salary range will be based on factors such as market conditions, internal equity, and candidate experience, skills, and qualifications relevant to the role.
