Position Summary We are seeking a highly analytical and relationship-driven Programmatic Specialist to join our ad operations team. This role is crucial for maximizing the value of our ad inventory, with a strong focus on private auctions. The ideal candidate will serve as a key liaison between our sales team and demand-side partners, ensuring our inventory is effectively monetized and our revenue goals are met. Key Responsibilities Private Auction Set Up and Optimization: Build and manage private marketplaces (PMPs) and programmatic guaranteed deals within our ad server to drive competitive bidding and increase revenue. Proactively monitor and optimize deal performance, adjusting floor prices, targeting, and audience segments to maximize eCPM and fill rate. Conduct A/B tests on deal settings to identify the most effective strategies for key buyers. Deal Troubleshooting and Analysis: Serve as the primary point of contact for all private auction troubleshooting. Analyze deal performance to identify and resolve discrepancies, delivery issues, and technical errors. Work directly with external demand partners to diagnose and fix issues in real-time, ensuring deals perform as expected. Ad Quality & Compliance: Help to maintain ad quality across our properties (RC and CBC) using various tools, including Ad Lightning and the Ad Review Center in our ad server. Working Closely with Sales: Act as the primary programmatic expert for the sales team, providing them with data, insights, and technical support. Assist in setting up and launching new deals, ensuring they are configured to meet client expectations and revenue goals. Provide guidance to the sales team on inventory packaging, pricing strategies, and private auction best practices. Reporting and Insights: Develop and maintain clear, comprehensive reports on programmatic performance for both internal and external stakeholders. Analyze data to create actionable insights and present strategic recommendations to leadership on how to grow ad revenue. Reconcile invoicing at the beginning of each month to ensure accurate billing and revenue recognition. Conduct post-campaign analysis to evaluate performance and inform future deal strategies. Client Management: Serve as a key point of contact for demand-side platforms (DSPs) and trading desk partners. Build and maintain strong relationships with key buyers, fostering trust and collaboration to grow deal volume. Communicate effectively with partners regarding inventory updates, new deal opportunities, and performance insights. Qualifications Experience: 2+ years of hands-on experience in a programmatic role, preferably with a publisher or agency focused on the supply side. Technical Skills: Deep expertise with a major ad server, such as Google Ad Manager (GAM). Strong understanding of header bidding and the mechanics of the open auction. Experience with troubleshooting tools like Google Publisher Console. Analytical Skills: Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on yield management metrics (eCPM, fill rate, RPM). Proficiency in Google Sheets (pivot tables, complex formulas) and data analysis. Communication & Interpersonal Skills: Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical and performance data clearly. Proven ability to build and maintain strong professional relationships with clients and internal teams. Bilingualism (English and French) is a strong asset.
