Job Description What is the opportunity? We are seeking a highly skilled and resourceful Workday Domain Lead – Core HCM to join our HR Digital Solutions team. This individual will serve as the subject matter expert (SME) for Workday Core HCM, driving the evolution of our Workday platform to deliver an exceptional user experience and align with RBC’s HR strategy. As a key member of the Workday team, you will partner closely with HR business leaders, Centres of Expertise, and IT to understand business needs, identify opportunities for improvement, and deliver scalable, effective solutions within Workday. You will also play a leadership role in guiding and mentoring other domain leads, ensuring a consistent and collaborative approach across functional areas. What Will You Do? Lead and Own the Core HCM Domain: Serve as the go-to expert for Core HCM functionality, configuration, and design. Collaborate with Stakeholders: Engage with HR business partners, Centres of Expertise, and other stakeholders to understand pain points, gather requirements, and translate them into Workday configuration solutions. Enhance and Sustain Workday: Drive ongoing enhancements, ensuring Workday continues to reflect RBC’s HR strategy and business priorities. Solution Design & Configuration: Analyze requirements, recommend solutions, and execute configuration in Workday following best practices and governance standards. Testing & Deployment: Partner with HR IT and QE teams to plan, execute, and validate configuration changes. Stay Current: Keep abreast of Workday’s roadmap, new releases, and industry best practices to proactively recommend enhancements. Leadership & Mentorship: Provide guidance and support to other domain leads, fostering collaboration, accountability, and a culture of continuous improvement. Support: Work with our HR Advice and Talent Cycle teams to troubleshoot issues, improve processes, and deliver a seamless experience for our operational teams. What Do You Need to Succeed? Must Have: Minimum 5+ years of hands-on Workday configuration experience, with demonstrated expertise in Core HCM. Workday Pro Certification in HCM Core (required); additional certifications are an asset. Strong understanding of end-to-end HR business processes and their integration across modules. Proven ability to analyze complex business requirements and translate them into effective system solutions. Exceptional problem-solving, collaboration, and communication skills. Post-secondary degree or diploma in a business or technology-related field (or equivalent experience). Self-directed and proactive, with the ability to take ownership and deliver under tight deadlines. Nice to Have: Experience within the financial services industry. 3–5 years of related Human Resources or HR technology experience. Experience leading or mentoring other Workday domain experts.
