HOURS OF WORK: 15-25hrs weekly
REMUNERATION: Salary $19.00, 4% vacation pay

The Dalhousie Student Union (DSU) is an incorporated non-profit with the objectives of:
acting as the official representative organization of Dalhousie students;
serving as the medium of communication between Dalhousie students and the governing bodies of the University;

OVERVIEW
Coordinate and oversee the daily operations of the Food Bank. Support the sustainable growth of the food bank to meet the increasing demand in the student community.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Coordinate scheduling for food bank volunteers and orders.
Coordinate food pick-up and deliveries with volunteers and volunteer drivers.
Liaise with VPFO to confirm the correct setup and maintenance of member registration tools and information systems.
Inform new members of the guidelines of the program.
Coordinate on-site food bank service delivery ensuring adequate inventory and service standards are met.
Ensure adequate supply of food and supplies, meet with VPFO regularly to inform on needs.
Track and order food and supplies as required, following assigned monthly budget.
Support DSU annual member and volunteer surveys to discuss program satisfaction.
Volunteer Coordination:
Recruit, orient, schedule volunteers for the food bank.
Provide volunteer training sessions to ensure all volunteers are able to execute their areas of responsibility.
QUALIFICATIONS
Currently registered Dalhousie University student.
Excellent administration and organizational skills.
Self-motivation and ability to work under pressure in a dynamic environment.
Has a good working knowledge of the requirements of health and safety.
Experience communicating with small groups effectively.
Highly flexible, with solid interpersonal skills that allow one to work effectively in a diverse working environment.
Excellent leadership, communication, customer service, conflict resolution and interpersonal skills.
Driver's License considered an asset.
