We are looking for a Technical Sales Representative to join our Coatings team in Mississauga, Ontario.

The Technical Sales Representative represents the Company by contacting established and prospective customers in an assigned territory for the purpose of selling Chemetall surface treatment chemicals. Understanding the business activities of accounts in the territory and applies knowledge of the customer’s internal operation to tailor sales presentations and sales proposals to the account’s specific needs.
Managing territory profitability by reviewing territory contribution margins, providing margin improvement by product selection and optimum pricing. Assuring that technology provided within the territory strengthens the company’s competitive position within the accounts.
Developing a structured weekly call itinerary to optimize time management and ensure comprehensive coverage of territories based on industry, geography, and account potential, while engaging with both established and prospective customers to assess their needs and provide suitable product solutions aligned with the company's targeted business units.
Selecting the process and the right material to solve customer cleaning, sanitation or surface treatment problems.
Collaborating closely with customers to foster strong business relationships while actively maintaining communication regarding their service requirements.
Providing information on new products, methods, techniques and other general information such as safety and disposal, while training customers and insuring proper and safe use of Chemetall materials.
Improving technical knowledge of Chemetall materials through self-study and participation in professional societies.
Maintaining records of the activities in the territory as required by management and those records necessary for successful performance (reporting competitive activities that impact sales in the territory, preparing and submitting call reports, exception reports, and in-plant service reports, as required).
If you have...
A BS Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Engineering, or Business is required.
Minimum of 3-5 years of relevant work experience is required.
B2B industrial sales experience in specialty chemical sales (surface treatment-paint pretreatments, wastewater treatments, metalworking fluids, etc.) preferred.
An ability to make sales presentations and follow up with written proposals and manage customer contracts.
Strong business acumen and excellent organization skills with sales planning.
A customer acquisition mentality for new customer acquisition and continuous up-/cross-selling opportunities (customer support/account management).
Technical consulting capabilities regarding products and processes; will learn and understand Chemetall product portfolio.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal, to deliver sales presentations and build and strengthen customer relationships.
Collaboration skills to enable business at all levels
Travel up to 50-60%, with overnight travel within your territory.
Valid driver's license in good standing.
