Position Title: Snowboard Instructor-in-Training (Seasonal Volunteer Position)

Job Summary: The Snowboard Instructor-in-Training (IIT) Program blends volunteer work with hands-on learning to help prepare individuals for the Canadian Association of Snowboard Instructors (CASI) Level 1 certification. Participants will volunteer while taking part in a 9-week instructional course (registration required), working closely with a senior instructor to develop teaching skills, technical knowledge, and customer service experience.
IITs assist with children’s ski and snowboard programs, help in the rental shop, greet guests, and provide general support to Snow School operations. This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals who enjoy working with kids, love skiing or snowboarding, and are interested in becoming certified instructors.
Program Commitment:
Participation in a weekly 1 hour 20 minute lesson
Minimum of 81 volunteer hours (approx. 9 hours per week), beginning January 5, 2026

Roles and Responsibilities:
Ensure the safety and well-being of students during lessons and on lifts
Support certified instructors during children's ski and snowboard lessons
Assist with equipment fitting and operations in the rental shop
Greet and assist patrons as they arrive
Attend pre-season training and adhere to uniform standards
Support other departments as needed, based on operational demands
Be available to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and school breaks (Christmas and/ March Break)
Key Qualifications:
Minimum age: 14 years by end of current year
Enrolled in the Ski IIT program through Guest Services
Confidently ski/snowboard all runs at Chicopee
Self-motivated, reliable, and enthusiastic
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Able to work both independently and as part of a team
Physically capable of lifting up to 45 lbs (20.4 kg)
Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions
Bilingualism considered an asset

Flexible availability based on business needs
Must supply your own certified ski/snowboard helmet (CSA Z263.1, ASTM F2040, EN 1077, or Snell RS 98 compliant)
Willingness to comply with all uniform and dress code
