We’re seeking someone to join our Firmwide Innovation team as an AI/ML Sector Lead to help shape our Firm's AI strategy, lead business development efforts in market, identify partnership opportunities with tech companies for the Firm and support Business and Technology in building high-impact relationships. Read on… What you’ll do in the role: This role will support and maintain win-win relationships between the various technology providers and the business divisions of the bank including Wealth Management, Private Bank, Investment Management, and Institutional Solutions. The role entails significant elements of relationship development and strategy. Primary elements of the role include: Strategy and Insights Provide curated content and perspectives on market innovation to Operating Committee members, Business Leaders, Tech Leaders and CIOs through market landscapes, thought pieces and curated executive events to support strategic discussion and decisions on innovation priorities. Conduct market research and provide deep analysis on technology landscape from the Firm's providers and ecosystem to deliver actionable advice to Firm stakeholders. Analyze market, industry, and technology trends and provide recommendations to internal and external clients based on findings. Recommendations could include adoption of product or even support M&A conversations. Serve as an AIML subject matter expert as needed, sharing internal technology perspective with select Research, Institutional, and Wealth Management clients. Business Development & Relationship Management Assess early to growth stage companies for potential partnership with the Firm. Demonstrate alignment and comprehension of our business and technology partners' priorities by identifying the most relevant disruptors and partners for the Firm. Align on approach on a portfolio of priority tech companies with relevant product owners and client-facing partners and drive to agreed outcomes inclusive of assessing strategic fit, evaluations, deal coverage, mentoring and driving to product decisions. Ensure successful client and vendor interactions including setting agenda, aligning on intended outcomes, identifying relevant participants and carrying out meetings and events. Handle and coordinate escalation of issues (contractual or operational) with vendors, ensuring suitable senior executives at the Firm and vendor are involved. What you’ll bring to the role: 9+ years of experience with hands-on technological/engineering experience in the field of AI, Applied AI, or Machine learning either at financial services organization or through consulting roles. At least a Bachelor degree in a relevant field. Strong foundation in AI/ML concepts including supervised/unsupervised learning, deep learning, NLP, reinforcement learning, and generative models. Python, Julia, Java, C++, or other relevant programming experience. Hands-on experience with ML frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn, or Hugging Face. Experience with Modern MLOps platforms such as Azure ML, Sagemaker, Databricks MLFlow, Google Vertex AI, or Weights and Biases. Demonstrated knowledge of Applied AI skills such as prompt/context engineering, LLM integration, model evaluation, and validation. Awareness of Ethical AI including fairness, transparency, and responsible AI principles. Familiarity with data protection and AI regulations and standards such as GDPR, CCPA, EU AI Act. Awareness of industry trends and key vendors. Experience with market research, tooling, and business analysis.
