ATCO Structures is seeking a dynamic and experienced Project Manager for our Northern Ontario region to lead the execution of construction projects, including builds, repairs, and renovations. This role is pivotal in ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. You’ll collaborate with internal teams, consultants, and contractors from project initiation to client acceptance.
This is a full-time permanent role reporting to the Regional Manager, Northern Ontario. The job location will be either Sudbury or Timmins, Ontario.
Job Responsibilities:
Lead construction, installation, dismantling, repair, and renovation projects from estimation through to client acceptance.
Frequent travel throughout the Northern Ontario region and the Northern Quebec region as the business and project needs demand.
Travel to various manufacturing facilities to inspect products for quality and accuracy throughout Ontario and Quebec.
Ability to understand and interpret blueprints, site plans, and engineered drawings.
Travel throughout Northern Ontario to help facilitate, initiate, and perform service calls as required.
Assist with performing and dispatching service calls; triage appropriately and manage associated costs.
Ensure vendor compliance in ComplyWorks from a safety and quality perspective.
Coordinate transportation & logistics of equipment, materials, and site work as required for any projects.
Manage contracts, subcontractors, and ensure timely execution of project deliverables.
Inspire and mentor teams, fostering innovation, collaboration, and performance excellence.
Ensure internal and external parties are compliant with all relevant ATCO HSE policies and procedures, ensuring effective documentation and review in SiteDocs.
Ensure customer HSE policies and procedures are upheld and adhered to on project sites and as required. Ensure ATCO HSE and QC policies and procedures are adhered to and upheld at all times.
Coordinate with manufacturing teams to align production timelines with project schedules.
Monitor and create budgets, schedules, and work-in-progress reports to ensure project efficiency.
Oversee change management processes and ensure proper documentation of scope changes.
Maintain organized project files and ensure compliance with document control procedures.
Communicate effectively with internal and external parties as required to ensure project and business operation success.
Conduct client meetings, site inspections, and ensure stakeholder alignment throughout the project lifecycle.
Support contract administration and contribute to continuous improvement across ATCO branches.
Ensure all work complies with ATCO’s safety standards, OH&S regulations, and quality expectations.
Job Qualifications:
Minimum of ten years of experience working on mid-size construction projects combined with a post-secondary education in construction management, engineering technology or architectural fields.
3-7 years of progressive experience in construction project management.
Experience managing contracts (small, mid and large size)
Familiarity with contract negotiations, estimating, and financial planning.
Demonstrate strong leadership, building rapport and negotiation skills.
Strong written and oral communication skills with customer service mindset.
Ability to work independently and as a part of a team.
Ability to build project schedules and manage a project budget.
Proficient in MS Project, Primavera P6, MS Office, SharePoint, Teams, ProCore, and Aconex.
Comfortable travelling to remote project sites.
