About the role
As the Senior Advisor – Training, you will be responsible and accountable for providing leadership, coaching, and mentoring to the Training Advisors, ensuring that all training programs and projects are delivered in alignment with Evolution Mining's standards and operational requirements at the Red Lake Operation.
Schedule is 5 days on / 2 days off / 4 days on / 3 days off– 9.5 hour shifts and is a residential role.
Lead all instructors and training programs across RLO
Continuously evaluate and improve training modules for effectiveness
Develop and implement competency-based training and assessment systems for mining personnel
Manage the employee induction and onboarding process efficiently
Coordinate external training providers as needed
Maintain accurate and up-to-date training records and documentation
Identify training needs at site, department, and individual levels through management engagement and annual needs analysis
Contribute to annual departmental budgeting with training-related input
Stay current with ministry regulations impacting training requirements
Track and assess training effectiveness using KPIs and feedback
Hold signing authority for ministry certifications
Promote a safe, incident-free workplace through training and leadership
Champion a safety-first culture via risk management and safety training
Ensure compliance with all applicable federal/provincial laws and company policies
Follow all corporate procedures, management plans, and standard work instructions
Perform additional duties as assigned
About you
As the Senior Advisor Training, you should have demonstrated experience supervising and managing employees, combined with progressive experience in mining, specifically in a training role. The preferred candidate will have an Underground Common Core designation or a Mill Common Core designation.
In addition, you must possess or be able to demonstrate the following:
Proficient in INX and Microsoft PowerPoint
Skilled in developing training modules
Budgeting experience
Strong report writing and documentation
Knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Mining Regulations
Knowledge of Mining Processes and underground environments
Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills
Strong organizational and time management abilities
High attention to detail and confidentiality
Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work independently
Effective at coaching, performance management, and conflict resolution
Team-oriented with a focus on collaboration and a positive work culture
