Overview
Working independently, this role leverages strong data management, technical expertise, and team leadership to support Avison Young Technologies and the Market Intelligence team. The focus is on maintaining high-quality data, enabling insights, and collaborating with stakeholders to drive adoption of proprietary platforms.
This contract role will cover an 12-month maternity leave
Responsibilities
Working closely with the broader Market Intelligence team in Canada and ensure they have access to our technology tools and data.
Manage and support a team of analysts responsible for collecting and storing lease and sale availabilities in the internal database, ensuring data accuracy and timeliness.
Become a power user of proprietary and third-party platforms, including Property Intelligence, Availability Manager, ThoughtSpot, and Snowflake.
Supporting the development testing and roll out of data-based technology products.
Building and guiding a data team and developing and optimizing best-in-class daily data collection, enhancement, and utilization.
Instilling a sense of ownership in our data team to ensure they are capturing every angle of the market they cover each day from a sale, lease, development, availability, tenant, owner perspective.
Act as a player-coach — leading and developing a strong data team while also contributing daily market data to help make our platform best-in-class.
Managing, growing and optimizing processes to consolidate data sources, utilize automated workflows and engage with local resources to capture and enhance data related to both real estate market activities including micro data on properties, companies, leases, sales, scoop and availabilities and real estate adjacent activities.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree required
5+ year experience in commercial real estate or real estate course work preferred
1-2 years managing people
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft excel
Working knowledge of SQL for data querying and transformation, and Python for data manipulation, automation
Proven ability to present using different digital mediums
Passionate about cities and real estate
Must be able to handle flexibility in task management while having a keen eye for detail
