We are looking for candidates with expertise in the following areas: Financing for Development, Canada and the World, Globalization and Development, Project Management, Conflict and Development, Global Citizenship and Development, Qualitative Research Methods and Development. Expertise in Africa and/or the Middle East would be considered an asset. Priority will be given to candidates who can teach in French at time of hire. Title of the position: Replacement Professor Duties Teaching six courses per academic year at the undergraduate and graduate levels Participating in academic and administrative activities Other activities as specified in the collective agreement Qualifications Hold a Ph.D. in any relevant field. Candidates who are close to completing a Ph.D. could be considered; Demonstrate excellence or the potential for excellence in teaching and research; Professional experience in development practice would be an asset. Bilingualism The University of Ottawa is a bilingual institution, and all professors in the Faculty of Social Sciences must be actively bilingual (French and English). Active bilingualism is required at the time of hiring. Terms and Salary This three-year contract will begin on July 1, 2026, and end June 30th, 2029, and is non-renewable. Salary scale for Replacement Professors starts at $99,377 (as of May 1, 2025) for a full-time teaching workload.
