Course Code & Title: BCH2203 Introduction to Programming in Python
COURSE DESCRIPTION:This course is to introduce graduate students to the programing language Python. The course will teach the students how to install Python on their laptop and then use Python to perform statistical analyses of data. The course consists of twelve hands-on sessions, each lasting one hour, where students login online (or if permitting be in person) with their computer for class assignments and lectures, each of these assignments being due for the following lecture.

Class Schedule: Winter session. Six sessions (each two hours long) over six weeks. Day and times are flexible.
Sessional Date of Appointment: January - April 2026
Salary: Bases on Appointment size at the minimum stipend rate of $9,820.70 (inclusive of vacation pay) for a half course.
*Please note that should rates stipulated in the collective agreement vary from the rates stated in this posting, the rates in the collective agreement shall prevail.
Minimum Qualifications: Candidates should possess a doctorate degree in relevant discipline or in a closely related field and demonstrate expertise and mastery of the subject area. The applicant must be familiar with the types of data management that are commonly seen by students in the Biochemistry Department.
Preferred Qualifications: Applicant must have convocated with a Ph.D to be given consideration for this position.
Description of Duties: Design and implementing six practical lectures on using R. Each lecture will have an accompanying assignment component. Correcting and grading assignments and tests.
