We are hiring two Health and Wellness Advisor in our Integrated Disability Management (IDM) team for our Calgary office. You will be responsible for supporting employees and managing employee short-term disability (STD) and Workers’ Compensation Board (WCB) claims in a timely and efficient manner. Minimum Requirements: A Bachelor’s Degree in the medical or human sciences fields, or an equivalent combination of education and experience in the medical or insurance fields Two - five years of claims and / or disability management experience, specifically working with WCB claims Strong knowledge of best practices in disability management and the relevant legislation Expert knowledge of workers’ compensation legislation, policies, and procedures Basic knowledge of STD plans and long-term disability contracts Proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with Cority software is considered an asset Exceptional communication, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills Key Accountabilities: Adjudicate manage employee STD claims in accordance with legislative requirements and Suncor’s case management process and practices Manage workers’ compensation claims in accordance with legislative requirements and Suncor’s case management process and practices, including conducting cost relief and appeals activities Assess employee fitness to work and communicate restrictions and limitations to the business area Identify and arrange suitable medical interventions to assist employees in their recovery Collect information and collaborate with stakeholders to develop an appropriate transitional return to work plan to facilitate safe, timely, and sustainable return to work Educate and inform key stakeholders on the requirements of short-term, long-term, and WCB programs, including roles, responsibilities, expectations, and consequences Exercise ethical and professional judgment in determining the appropriate collection, use, and disclosure of personal health information Maintain up-to-date and accurate electronic documentation and internal records Location and other Key Details: This is an office-based role. You will work out of our Calgary head office, located in the Suncor Energy Centre at 150 – 6th Ave S.W.
