Field Service Technician- (Remote-Quebec, Canada)
SUMMARY: A Field Service Technician provides industry-best technical support on computer-based medical instrumentation. This role is responsible for establishing strong relationships with customers, as well as managers and the national service team. This position will be based remotely and will be accountable for multi-state service coverage.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Stay up to date and follow all Quality System procedures related to this job, which can affect the quality of products or services provided to our customers.
Visit customer locations to perform installation, calibration, and equipment repair on company offerings.
Complete calibration forms onsite and email to customers within 24 hours. Ensure that knowledge of products serviced is held to a high standard and up to date.
Work closely with sales and service teams and customers to understand their service needs.
Work closely with the service scheduling team for territory management and streamline the monthly schedule whenever possible.
Maintain customer focus and with sense of urgency related to performance and problem solving, with emphasis on innovation and utilization of technology.
Effective customer interaction through good interpersonal relationships, asks questions, listens carefully, and provides appropriate information. Recognizes issues, problems or opportunities and determines the appropriate action required.
Order/maintain an adequate amount of truck stock to replace defective parts in the field when needed.
Manage appropriate tools and equipment to ensure that they are in proper functioning order and meet the Company’s quality standards.
Multi-tasks to complete responsibilities in a timely and accurate manner.
Book travel arrangements, including flights and lodging, according to planned customer visits.
Attend trade shows, presentations, and meetings as required. Submit expense reports on time.
Travel Required: Extensive travel required.
Education and/or Experience
Associate degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school.
Minimum of 2 years of experience in the field and/or training.
Experience in the healthcare industry is strongly preferred.
Experience with presenting information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients and other employees of the organization preferred.
Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Familiarity with audio systems, electronics repair, PC hardware, software – configurations, troubleshooting and maintenance.
Proficiency in speaking both English and French is preferred.
Experience with remote control SW packages log-me-in 123, etc.; CRM packages; & Microsoft Office.
Networking experience preferred - i.e. – Networks / Internet Protocols, WAN, LAN, routers, switches, servers, and basic TCP/IP and multicast knowledge.
Valid driver’s license required.
