Days: Monday – Thursday
Hours: 4:00 PM – 2:00 AM
The primary responsibility of the position is to ensure safe, quality and timely repairs in the Service Centre, while dedicating a percentage of your time to repairing customer equipment. This is done effectively through supervision of Truck, Trailer and Tanker Technicians, assignment of work and quality of job completion, educating the team on safe operating procedures, managing a safe workplace and raising awareness of hazards. Monitoring Technicians to ensure performance is up to standard and problem solving by eliminating waste, is key to improving throughput for customers and the efficiency of the Service Centre operation. This role involves managing a team through mentoring and coaching as well as rolling up your sleeves and working alongside the team for equipment repairs as necessary.

Responsibilities:
Service Centre Supervision
Work with Standard Work Procedures to identify areas for improvement
Ensure all work being performed is done following healthy and safety guidelines
Ensure all equipment is in safe working condition and advise Service Manager of any tools or equipment that require vendor repair or replacement
Ensure that all completed work is inspected for quality control using GoRight's Quality Control documentation before leaving the bay
Communicate safety, productivity and quality expectation with Technicians for each job
Escalate safety concerns to the Service Manager immediately
Open/close Service Centre for shift start up and shut down
Communicate and prepare shift hand off information at end of each shift
Monitor jobs to avoid any problems or delays ahead of time
Monitor, coach and train Technicians on standards, productivity and quality of work
Identify Technician skill levels to gauge supervision intervals
Continuously monitor Service Centre organization and complete daily checklist
Monitor Technician clock-on times in the system to ensure accuracy
Monitor job times to completion targets and communicate to Technicians
Involve Parts Planner immediately for parts required in the Service Centre
Ensure warranty parts and information are captured when flagged by the system
Monitor waste bins and advise when they need to be picked up
Track and repair tools and equipment that are out of service
Perform all types of repairs and maintenance to transportation equipment
Shunting trailers in/out of Service Centre as required
Performing inbound/outbound truck and trailer inspections as required
Other work as may be defined
Education:
Grade 12 or equivalent with trade training
Red Seal Truck and Transport License with adequate trailer repair experience
Skills and Experience:
Truck, Trailer and Tanker maintenance knowledge and experience
Team Supervision
Strong technical skills
Good communication skills
Personnel skills to manage staff
Good computer skills
