Role Summary: SEE YA LATER RANCH in Okanagan Falls, the “The Heart of Wine Country”. One of the oldest and largest estate wineries in the Okanagan, with spectacular views and incredible experiences. Arterra Wines Canada is looking for a creative culinary artisan to provide exceptional service and deliver first-class food for See Ya Later Ranch and support the growth of Arterra’s Okanagan Wineries. We are looking for an individual who loves to be on the front line and who is also a competent planner, able to juggle many responsibilities with a diverse and enthusiastic team. As the See Ya Later Ranch Winery Chef you play a critical role in maintaining and enhancing our customers’ satisfaction by creating lasting memories with exceptional food to complement our award-winning wines. Daily Life: Prepare and execute daily food program and private events Coordinate daily tasks with kitchen team Operate and maintain all kitchen equipment Ensure that culinary team is trained in, and maintains Food Safety and sanitation practices Develop and maintain inventory of kitchen and food supplies (ordering) Receive and verify food deliveries Daily opening, closing and cleaning duties, including kitchen laundry Collaborate with Executive Chef in menu development for restaurant, special & private events Ensure standard recipes are created with food costing for items Develop and communicate syllabus’ to estate team Cultivate, engage and motivate seasonal culinary support team Scheduling – ensure culinary staff hours and labour spend is aligned with fiscal plan Advise and collaborate with See Ya Later Ranch Estate Manager Represent See Ya Later Ranch at off-site events with culinary touchpoints Execute and/or provide support at other Arterra wineries, where food service is required prepared team and clean restaurant are essential for positive guest experiences! Requirements: Red Seal Certification, CWC or minimum 3 years relevant experience Food Safe Certification & WHIMIS Banquet experience – preferred Courteous, friendly, professional attitude – demonstrated Emotional Intelligence Detail oriented, multitasking ability and strong work ethic required Culinary expertise in various cooking techniques and cuisine Experience in supervising a small team and staff scheduling Able to lift 40lbs, work in hot summer temperatures & stand for long periods of time Able to work weekends and evenings Wine paring knowledge – an asset Vacation allocation restricted to November to February.
