Work Schedule Standard (Mon-Fri) Environmental Conditions Office, Warehouse Job Description Service Depot Technician R-01333222 Location: Burlington, Ontario Evaluate, repair, and perform maintenance on returned products and configure equipment to meet customer specifications. Responsible for overall coordination of Depot Service processes from the time the product arrives until the product is completely repaired, tested and ready to ship. Other responsibilities involve assembling finished parts for service. What you will do: · Accepts, inspects, and logs in returned items and keeps packing/shipping materials in tack for re-use. · Identifies, isolates and safeguards customers’ returned property from items designated as Thermo Electron property. · Performs routine technical diagnosis on Thermo product set, including mechanical and electrical assemblies. · Generates quote, emails to customer, discusses repair options and obtains a purchase order or credit card number from customer. · Performs repair and final test of equipment. · Follows work procedures and requests appropriate documentation for return of unit to customer or stock. · Identifies non-conforming parts and processes paperwork. · Follows Quality System policies and procedures. · Maintains work area and all required records. · Maintains work schedules to achieve customer turn-around time commitments. · Maintains spare parts inventory, tools, manuals and test equipment. · Maintains records of all service events per organizational policy. · Develops and maintains a working knowledge of Thermo products within customer environment. · Keeps up to date on new product introductions and technologies. · Provides flex up to Technical Service Support Group. · Helps maintain Training and Service equipment. · Involved with writing work instructions and technical documentation · Use of Navision for all aspects in position How you will get here: Technical proficiency in instrumentation and electronics. · Strong problem solving skills. · Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills. Demonstrated organizational skills; ability to handle multiple priorities. Basic PC skills Ability to use Navision Ability to work independently with only remote supervision.
