As an IQAN programmer, Product Designer, you will focus on developing user interface control programming for chippers, grinders and carbonizers. You will design custom software to ensure efficient machine management, including an advanced diagnostics system to minimize downtime in case of machine failures. This role will have a total electronic approach for controlling and monitoring equipment that is dedicated to the rugged and challenging terrain of the forestry industry. To excel in this role, a combination of technical skills is required, including both problem solving and strong mechanical aptitude.

Shift: 8:00am - 4:30pm, Monday to Friday
Job Duties:
Analyze, code, simulate, test, maintain, and document user the interface program.
Travel to field to optimize performance and address field concerns
Participate in the control systems technical team
Participate in new machine development to optimize for controllability
Update HMI in accordance with standards developed in the control systems team
Develop test plans/logic to improve troubleshooting
Develop logic to improve repeatability of the machine hydraulic setup and tuning
Skills and Experience:
Previous user interface experience in similar industries such as construction, agriculture, mining and material handling equipment.
PLC or embedded programming will be considered with a willingness and desire to learn IQAN.
Programming tasks require collaboration with coworkers; effective communication and reasoning skills are essential when working on projects that involve multiple team members.
Willingness to support team members in the field when required.
Ability to effectively present information to internal and external individuals and groups
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in relevant education such as Mechatronics, Mechanical, Electrical, Software Engineering, Electronics Technology or Computer Science.
Experience in software development using Parker IQAN, C, C++, or similar PLC/logic-based programming languages a definite asset
Proficiency in operating computer aided software design programs such as AutoCAD and SolidWorks as well as Microsoft Office products
Understanding of robotics, automation, sensors, engines, and hydraulic controls preferred.
