Job Description: The Clinical Coordinator, under the direction of the Manager, is responsible for the daily operations, organization and functioning of the unit. The incumbent coordinates and evaluates human material resources to ensure provision of quality patient care. The incumbent promotes and monitors quality nursing care by assisting with the establishment and maintenance of nursing care standards, policies and procedures and by participating in quality improvement and research activities. The coordinator assists with identifying educational needs of the staff, orientation and education and evaluation of the progress of staff development. The incumbent functions as a role model and clinical resource for nursing staff and all members of the multidisciplinary team on issues affecting patients. The incumbent acts as an advocate for patient/family and staff/physicians. The coordinator provides direct patient care as required.
