Reporting to the Casualty Regional Manager, the Underwriting Manager will lead a team of casualty underwriters and collaborate closely with distribution, claims, actuarial and other internal stakeholders to support profitable growth and position AIG as a market leader. How you will create an impact People Leadership: Lead, coach, and develop a team of casualty underwriters to achieve underwriting excellence and profitable results. Foster a culture of collaboration, inclusivity, and continuous learning. Market Presence: build, solidify and lead broker and client engagements, and produce new business by working with our broker network to source new opportunities Diligently underwrite and service clients within Primary, Excess and International Casualty lines. Collaborate with Distribution and other colleagues to achieve positive outcomes with both renewals and new business and execute on opportunities. Ensure you and your team’s adherence to all standards including service level agreements for premium processing, policy issuance, file maintenance and underwriting governance. Produce accurate and timely information for casualty leadership, assisting in the budgeting/forecasting process on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis. What you’ll need to succeed Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Proven Casualty Underwriting Experience, with an emphasis on Primary and Excess GL, International and Loss Sensitive Programs. Prior management or team-lead mentoring experience with strong ability to lead and manage a team of underwriters. Flexibility and ability to adapt to rapidly changing work environments. Proven ability to deliver difficult messages whilst influencing positive outcomes. Organized, highly motivated, self-starter who takes responsibility for own performance and demonstrates leadership in their approach to work, training and knowledge seeking. Proven ability to work within a collaborative team framework, to provide a positive influence on others and to support the team manager as required. General understanding and awareness of people’s behaviors, their complexities and how to deal with them. CIP/FCIP/CRM designation is considered an asset. Ready to step up to new challenges?
