Reporting to the Director of Operations, the Quality Manager is responsible for the quality control and quality assurance for the Company’s products and processes.
This role is based in our Abbotsford location and this role is a fully onsite role.
Duties & Responsibilities
Conduct regular inspections and audits of manufacturing processes and finished products.
Implement and maintain quality control standards and procedures through audits and corrective measures.
Identify and address quality issues and discrepancies, providing solutions and recommendations for improvement.
Responsible for training staff on quality control measures and new protocols.
Coordinate with production teams to ensure compliance with quality standards.
Analyze product specifications and requirements to establish quality and reliability standards.
Develop and implement inspection criteria and procedures for incoming, in-process, and final inspections.
Collaborate with other departments to integrate quality control techniques into overall company processes.
Manage the calibration and maintenance of quality control equipment.
Participate in product development meetings to provide input on quality standards and expectations.
Oversee the management of non-conforming materials, ensuring proper documentation, segregation, and disposition.
Conduct root cause analysis for defects and implement corrective actions.
Lead continuous improvement projects to enhance product quality and efficiency.
Provide technical and statistical expertise to teams.
Engage in supplier quality performance monitoring and improvement activities.
Maintain accurate quality documentation and records.
Prepare and present regular quality reports to management.
Ensure compliance with industry regulations and standards.
Collaborate with the engineering and production teams to enhance manufacturing processes.
Participate in the development and implementation of quality improvement initiatives.
Other duties as assigned by your supervisor.
Management Responsibilities
This role will begin as an individual contributor with the goal of growing a quality team over time as the company grows and the additional resources become necessary.
Once a team is required, recruit and develop a team of quality professionals to ensure the quality standards and compliance are followed by the business.
Perform performance management processes for staff including annual performance review, goal setting, and performance management initiatives.
Working Conditions
Production facility environment.
Steel toes and other personal protective equipment required when walking around production /warehouse floor.
Education and Experience
Minimum 10 years’ experience in either quality control or quality assurance in a manufacturing setting.
Bachelor's degree in engineering, quality, or related field required.
Proven experience in quality control/assurance in the automotive or manufacturing sector.
Experience with 5S and Lean thinking and methods.
Strong knowledge of quality control standards and testing methodologies.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Proficient in the use of quality testing tools and software.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Detail-oriented with a commitment to excellence.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.
Must be legally authorized to work in Canada.
