The FBW & Secondary Flight Control Engineering team, and the business, requires a rigorous and disciplined Technical Expert, Engineering who has product, process and practical application experience to ensure a sustaining program (Challenger, Global Express, Global 8000) while preparing it for the challenges and demands of the future (Ecojet).What are your contributions to the team?
Lead the integration of the FBW & Secondary Flight Control system on the aircraft.
Develop concepts, design approach and philosophy with the external Flight Control system suppliers.
Perform/Review analysis to evaluate concepts feasibility for future platform.
Perform trade off studies and life cycle cost analysis for future programs.
Develop, validate and verify technical requirements of the FBW & Secondary Flight Control system.
Review/Prepare technical requirements
Review/Prepare test procedures
Execute test on rigs (Montreal) and/or aircraft testing (Wichita/Toronto/Montreal)
Review/Prepare test reports in support of certification activities
Resolve problems arising from in-service aircraft.
Troubleshooting, root cause determination, corrective action definition and execution
Ensure compliance to the ARP4754 development process.
Ensure the design process and the resulting equipment implementation is in line with Bombardier's requirements and standards.
Occasional trips to the Suppliers facilities and Regulatory Authorities, as well as on-site support to the Final Assembly Line (Toronto & Montreal), Completion Centers (Montreal), Flight Test Center (Wichita).How to thrive in this role?
You hold a bachelor or master’s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering and have a minimum of 10 years’ experience in aerospace related field.
You have been directly involved in the definition and certification of at least one FBW and/or Secondary Flight Control system.
You possess an excellent understanding of all facets of system definition, integration, and certification and have a good knowledge of aircraft systems and interfaces (e.g. electrical, hydraulic, avionics, auto-flight, ).
You have good knowledge of Part 25 certification process.
You have experience in DAL A software development following guidance from ARP4754, DO178, and hardware software interaction for FBW controllers (or similar complex system)
You have working knowledge of MATLAB/Simulink/Stateflow simulation environment. An experience in the model-based specification will be an asset.
You have good knowledge of MS Office and Requirements Management tools is an asset.
You have excellent oral presentation in English and French.
You have the ability to work with limited supervision, be organized, a team player, and a self-motivated person, be Customer focused, and be able to work under pressure.
You must also show initiative, innovation, and leadership, a strong sense of responsibility and integrity, adaptability, have good interpersonal communication skills, have a good engineering judgement, and drive for results.
