We are currently hiring a Site Safety Coordinator for our Nanaimo, BC construction site. In this role, you’ll help maintain a safe, compliant, and high-performing work environment by implementing and enforcing site safety standards on large-scale construction projects, working closely with multiple subtrades in a dynamic, fast-paced setting.

Policy & Program Implementation Support the development and enforcement of site safety policies, ensuring compliance with WCB and OH&S regulations. Advise on PPE usage and identify training needs to maintain safe work practices.
Training & Communication Lead site orientations, toolbox talks, and deliver internal safety training (e.g., Fall Protection, WHMIS). Promote a culture of safety awareness and clear communication on site.
Site Monitoring & Inspections Monitor daily site activities for safety compliance, conduct regular inspections, and act as the primary contact for OH&S representatives. Maintain MSDS documentation and ensure proper safety postings.
Incident Management & Reporting Investigate and document all incidents and near misses. Implement corrective actions and provide timely reports to the Site Superintendent and head office safety team.
Equipment & Material Oversight Manage safety equipment inventory, inspection schedules, and supply requisitions. Ensure proper handling and documentation of all materials requiring MSDS compliance.
What We’re Looking For:
Must-Have Qualifications:
3+ years of experience in a safety role
Proven experience working on large-scale construction projects involving coordination with multiple subtrades and stakeholders
Strong understanding of Safe Work Practices and WCB regulations
Experience conducting training and site safety inspections
Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with diverse teams
Effective communicator, both verbal and written
Demonstrated reliability and a strong commitment to maintaining a safe, positive work culture
