Reporting primarily to the Manager of Education and Clinical Simulation - with occasional guidance from other Clinical Affairs leadership - the Adjunct Faculty Educator plays a key role in delivering high-quality educational experiences, with a primary focus on initial education programs, across Ornge’s Clinical Affairs. This position is responsible for facilitating learning activities that align with best practices in adult education, clinical instruction, and simulation-based training, while upholding the highest standards of educational theory and practice.
Responsibilities:
Assisting with Education Delivery:
Support the delivery of initial education content (e.g., Critical Care Paramedic Program, Flight RN Program), ensuring alignment with adult learning principles and clinical best practices.
Facilitate simulation-based learning and assessments, including setup and debriefing, in collaboration with Medical Simulation Specialists.
Conduct formative and summative assessments to monitor learner progress and achievement.
Provide mentorship and guidance to learners throughout their educational journey.
Collaborate with other Educators in delivering content and supporting learner development.
Assisting with Education Development:
Provide subject matter expertise to assist withdevelopment of initial education and continuing professional development content and learning experiences (such as but not limited to: Critical Care Paramedic Program, Flight RN Program), as assigned.
Support the Program Leads and accountable Faculty Educators in development of course content, incorporating clinical and academic best practices where applicable.
Participation in activities of mentorship and education, such as leading “train-the-trainer program sessions”, as needed.
Qualifications:
Post-secondary education in a relevant clinical field - such as Critical Care Paramedicine, Registered Nursing (Critical Care/Emergency), Anesthesia Assistant, or Registered Respiratory Therapy.
Demonstrated experience in teaching or facilitating adult education in clinical or academic settings is strongly preferred.
Simulation & Debriefing Education/Experience is preferred.
Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s Degree in related field is preferred.
CPR, ACLS, PALS, NRP is preferred.
