Unit Summary:
3B is a 20 bed Cardiology, Telemetry unit that cares for all types of acute cardiac patients; STEMI, NSTEMI, CHF, as well as patients pre & post cardiac procedures.
Qualifications:
THP is committed to internal talent, and therefore priority will be given to internal applicants.
Registered in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO) or currently meet the eligibility criteria to register in good standing in the Temporary Class or General Class with the CNO
2 years acute medical/surgical experience required
Successfully completed the Coronary Care 1 course or committed to completing the course within the next six months
Cardiology/Telemetry experience preferred
Canadian Critical Care Certification preferred
Current BCLS required; ACLS preferred
A physical assessment course required
Individuals with two years of recent telemetry and/or general medicine/surgical experience and successful completion of the Coronary Care II course will be given preference
Previous experience in providing and delivering patients and families with educational teaching
Demonstrates excellence in communication skills and intra-disciplinary team work
Demonstrates ability to facilitate patient and family-centered care and establish therapeutic relationships
Evidence of on-going professional development
Demonstrated experience and knowledge with Meditech and computer skills preferred
Satisfactory attendance and performance record required
Availability for days and nights on a 12-h.rotation including 2 weekends a month required
