JOB SUMMARY: Vascular Ultrasound Technologist reports to the Chief of Practice and the Administrative Director and exists to perform diagnostic vascular imaging that supports patient care and the effective operation of the Vascular Laboratory. The position supports the department by ensuring accurate and timely imaging, coordinating with other technical staff, and maintaining high-quality standards in laboratory operations. This role contributes to clinical excellence and patient care by providing reliable diagnostic information that informs physician decision-making and enhances the quality and efficiency of vascular services. Working under general supervision, the position is responsible for coordinating daily laboratory workflow, collaborating with team members, and upholding operational and quality standards. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES / DUTIES: Perform diagnostic vascular imaging using non-invasive techniques, including Doppler ultrasound, B-mode real-time imaging, and color-flow imaging, and provide preliminary interpretations to support physician decision-making. Manage daily operations of the Vascular Laboratory to ensure efficient workflow, proper coordination among staff, and adherence to quality and safety standards. Apply cognitive sonographic skills to identify and document anatomical, pathological, and diagnostic findings, ensuring accurate, high-quality images for patient records and clinical use. Maintain laboratory accreditation standards by following protocols established by the Intersocietal Accreditation Commission (IAC) and supporting compliance audits and inspections. Oversee and maintain laboratory equipment by performing routine testing, calibration, and coordinating repairs to ensure all imaging devices function safely and effectively. Provide instruction and guidance to medical staff on vascular imaging techniques and equipment use, contributing to training and professional development within the department. Participate in continuing education and professional development, staying current with advances in diagnostic vascular imaging, techniques, and best practices. Educate patients on relevant health risks and procedures to support informed care and engagement in treatment plans. The above is not intended to represent an exhaustive list of accountable duties and responsibilities required) Job Requirements REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Associates Degree Graduate of an accredited vascular technology program verified through American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) Three years of vascular technology experience in outpatient or hospital setting; or equivalent combination of education and experience CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS REQUIRED Registration in Vascular Technology (ARDMS) KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES (KSAs) Ability to operate equipment and provide accurate preliminary interpretation of test results. Ability to perform non-invasive vascular ultrasound examinations using Doppler, B-mode, and color-flow imaging equipment and provide accurate preliminary interpretations. Ability to manage and coordinate daily operations of the Vascular Laboratory to ensure efficient workflow and adherence to quality standards. Ability to provide guidance and instruction to medical staff, residents, and fellows on vascular imaging techniques and proper equipment use. Ability to clearly explain procedures, imaging results, and relevant health risks to patients. Compensation Range: $31.97- $46.39 This range offers an estimate based on the minimum job qualifications.
