The HR Innovative Solutions Branch maintains, administers and supports HR systems and processes to ensure efficient and reliable access to people information. The Branch develops and provides tools, reports and analytics to be used by Human Resources staff to support and make recommendations to their clients, and by managers and senior leaders to make informed talent management decisions. The HR Technology Management team is responsible for:
Ongoing projects and initiatives related to the enhancement of HR systems and processes
Maintaining overall data integrity, coordinating testing and audits of HR systems and information, collaborating with system users to ensure effective application, and supporting and improving system reporting and queries
Partnering with HR functional areas on system related process work and coordinating the deployment of new functionality, including identifying gaps and finding efficiencies through automation and data loads to increase usage and improve business processes
Providing support, guidance, clarification and resolution for HR-related SAP modules.
You are responsible for maintaining the functionality of the city’s Human Resources Information System (HRIS), and providing functional expertise by analyzing, recommending and implementing new functionality that integrates with the business needs, to ensure efficient services, in collaboration with IT Services.
You provide guidance, clarification and resolution on SAP/HR-related issues and serve as a functional source of expertise in one or more of the areas of: organization, position, and FTE management; Corporate Reporting and SAP queries; Training & Events module use and maintenance; Recruitment and Onboarding use and maintenance; and Personnel Administration module use and maintenance.
You are also responsible for developing, coordinating and providing training to Human Resources staff and SAP/HR users on the use of SAP/HR, impact of SAP/HR upgrades, and introduction of new SAP/HR modules, including the maintenance and/or development of process documents.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Completion of 3 year university degree in Public or Business Administration with a concentration in Human Resources Management, Accounting or Information Systems, or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in Human Resources, payroll and/or systems.
Experience in municipal government combined with experience in SAP application is an asset.
