Job Summary
We are hiring a System Test Technician to join our R&D team in Brossard.You will play a key role in validating our products before they go to market.
Your mission: Ensure proper product functionality by testing both hardware and software according to rigorous protocols.
What You’ll Do:
Develop and follow test plans
Conduct tests based on product specifications
Collaborate with internal teams (Quality, R&D, etc.)
Use your bank of controllers to simulate BMS installations
Act as the technical reference for automation and HVAC
You will directly contribute to product reliability, on-time delivery, and customer satisfaction.Key Tasks & Responsibilities (Essential Functions)
Main Tasks:
Test the proper functioning of our products as used by customers
Create and maintain a bank of controllers to simulate real BMS installations
Program controllers and develop graphical interfaces
Collaborate with Product Owners to define product requirements
Serve as a technical reference in BMS and HVAC for internal teams
Participate in training for test and R&D teams
Suggest improvements to testing methods and tools
Document test cases and configurations in Azure DevOps
Provide necessary equipment to developers
Use the Distech building to test products in real-world conditions
Support technical support in diagnosing complex cases
Contribute to a positive and professional team dynamic
Responsibilities:
Identify needs to effectively carry out product testing
Propose research directions to support innovation
Ensure availability and optimal use of testing tools
Organize, classify, and share technical information
Contribute to team skill development (training and mentoring)
Skills and Minimum Experience Required
Education & Experience:
2–3-year degree in electrical, electronic, or industrial engineering (DEC)
Experience in quality control of software and hardware products
Technical Skills:
Bilingual in French and English (reading, writing, speaking)
Proficiency in electricity, instrumentation, and control
Programming of input/output logic
Knowledge of product development methodologies
Good understanding of HVAC automation systems
Familiarity with embedded software (low-level)
Knowledge of TCP/IP protocol
Good manual skills
Knowledge of BACnet, LON, Modbus, and Mbus protocols is a plus
