Job Description
In collaboration with the Director, Crew Optimization and Management, the Crew Planning Manager is responsible for all aspects of crew planning and training scheduling for cabin crew and pilots.
Responsibilities
Lead the crew and training planning team to ensure successful execution of strategic plans and projects.
Oversee the organization and efficiency of crew scheduling and training operations.
Ensure adequate staffing of the planning team, including recruitment, onboarding, training, and scheduling.
Supervise and evaluate planners, ensuring their competency and compliance with regulatory and corporate standards.
Address and resolve non-compliance cases related to crew planning and training.
Plan and lead regular team meetings to align on priorities and performance.
Collaborate with internal departments to identify and meet specific training needs for crew members.
Manage the development of crew schedules and training calendars, ensuring alignment with company goals and regulatory timelines.
Coordinate promotions (CMD and DV), aircraft transfers, qualification requirements, and production timelines.
Develop workforce strategies aligned with aircraft planning and flight hour projections.
Anticipate future staffing and program needs based on operational forecasts.
Participate in working groups and committees related to crew planning and training.
Work closely with stakeholders, departments, and external providers to ensure logistical efficiency.
Improve and optimize the use of planning and training systems (Jeppesen, AIMS, Pelesys).
Provide decisive leadership and support to teams in a dynamic operational environment.
Qualifications
College diploma or equivalent professional experience.
Minimum of 7 years of experience in crew planning within a CARs 705 or equivalent operational environment.
At least 5 years of experience in a management, supervisory, or team lead role.
Strong ability to interpret policies, guidelines, and regulations.
In-depth knowledge of CARs 705 operational standards.
Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Forms), Jeppesen, AIMS, and Pelesys.
Oral and written fluency in French and English *
A good knowledge of French is required for positions in Quebec. The incumbent will be required to communicate and collaborate frequently in English, both orally and in writing, with colleagues, customers, and other stakeholders in Quebec, the rest of Canada, and internationally.
