What you will do Johnson Controls is seeking a Business Analyst to lead Agile teams within engineering software product development for our global Intrusion Detection Security Product teams. this role, you will contribute to our ever evolving multi-disciplinary Agile practices within engineering and our business units. You will serve as a liaison between sales, engineering, product management, project management, and design/development to ensure deadlines are met. This role is based in Concord, ON, and we prefer candidates to be local, or commuting distance to the facility. For the right candidate, this can be a remote opportunity! How you will do it Provide vision and direction to the Agile development team and stakeholders throughout the project Actively work on intake flow and provide backlog management, iteration planning, and elaboration of the requirements Ensure the team always has future backlog to work on Work closely with Product Management to create and maintain a product backlog according to business value or ROI Lead the planning and scheduling of product release plans with the team and set the expectation for delivery of new functionalities Assess value, develop cases, and prioritize stories, features, and technical backlog to ensure work focuses on those with maximum value that are aligned with product strategy Provide an active role in mitigating impediments impacting successful team completion of Release/Sprint Goals Support a safe and trusting team environment where conflicts can be addressed without fear of blame or retribution. Work with ScrumMaster to resolve team conflicts and coach positive team behaviours. Support continuous improvement of related Engineering practices. Participate in Product Owner / Product Management Community of Practice – supporting other Product Owners and extending the collective knowledge base. Keep up-to-date with Agile/Scrum principles and best practices Participate in Agile scaling initiatives. What we look for Required Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Business or equivalent. 3 + years of experience as a Product Owner or Business Analyst, with Agile process and principles. Engineering or technical background. Familiar with product lifecycle, as well as design and development of a product. Preferred Entrepreneurial mindset and outcome focused personality Technical acumen to partner with engineers and user experience to launch features on mobile apps and websites. Experience with data-modelling, cloud infrastructure and IOT an asset Experience working in a global team environment and communicating effectively across multiple cultures High level understanding of software architecture and systems modeling.
