What this job involves: JLL is hiring a Senior Occupancy Planner for a prominent client that is a leader in high speed connectivity and with offices across the globe. Their Ottawa operations boast a showcase campus which includes a flagship R&D centre. In this blended role, you will merge occupancy planning with detailed space data management and CAFM system oversight. Your primary responsibility will be to manage the client's global real estate portfolio effectively by leveraging a deep understanding of space supply and demand, applying rigorous data management principles to ensure data integrity, and using CAFM systems to develop and analyze planning scenarios. This role requires on-site presence depending where the successful candidate is based. Within the Ottawa area, ideally you are on-site 3 days/week and if outside of Ottawa, travel will be required to the client site at least one week each month. This site is located in Kanata. What your day-to-day will look like: Strategic Occupancy & Tactical Planning: You will develop and implement strategic plans for the client's portfolio. This involves managing space supply and demand, creating migration plans for all moves, and applying utilization strategies to maximize efficiency. Space Data & CAFM Management: As the CAFM/IWMS subject matter expert, you will oversee the complete lifecycle for space and headcount data to maintain a 95% accuracy goal. Reporting & Data-Driven Insights: You will manage project, ad-hoc, and recurring reports. Your core function is to analyze complex data, translating it into actionable insights that support strategic Corporate Real Estate decision-making. Client & Stakeholder Relationship Management: You will build critical relationships with stakeholders, including the client's real estate team, facility managers, and JLL businesses, to coordinate complex projects and ensure alignment. Required Qualifications: 5 + years of experience in space or occupancy planning Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel (e.g., pivot tables, XLOOKUP/V-Lookups, complex calculations) Proficiency in CAFM/IWMS software required, preferably with Archibus experience. Proficiency in AutoCAD, with experience in drawing management and an understanding of its core principles. Strong ability to consolidate data and floor plans into clear PowerPoint presentations. An analytical mindset and a structured approach to problem analysis, with the ability to identify issues and contribute to sustainable solutions. Strong presentation abilities, active listening skills, and the capacity to communicate clearly and effectively across different organizational levels.
