Position Summary
Under general supervision, prepare computerized engineering drawings, as-built maps, and plans of property in support of Westmoreland. Assists engineers, inspects products, conducts tests, and collects data.
Supervisor Responsibilities
This position does not have supervisory responsibilities over other employees.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Plan projects, develop and implement programs, and maintain records pertaining to a particular functional area.
Assist engineers and scientists as they create, modify, and test products and processes and create solutions to complex technical problems.
Maintain liaison with departmental personnel in providing technical support and data for projects.
Perform various computer related functions including programming, creating files and databases, and configuring hardware and software.
Perform engineering or systems support assignments involving specialized disciplines.
Assist with creating presentation maps and exhibit CAD drawings, legal descriptions for legal document insertion, and informational presentations.
Perform related work as required.
Typical Physical Demands
Requires prolonged sitting, some bending, stooping and stretching. Requires constant data input for extended periods of time without leaving the work area. Occasionally lifting files or paper weighing up to 30 pounds. Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard, photocopier, telephone, calculator, and other office equipment. Requires normal range of hearing and eyesight to record, prepare, and communicate appropriate reports. Requires mobility sufficient to travel.
Typical Working Conditions
Normal office environment. Occasional evening or weekend work.
Education and Experience
High School Diploma or GED.
Post secondary diploma in Mining Engineering Technology.
Any equivalent combination of training, education, and experience that provides the required skills, knowledge and abilities.
