Here we GROW again! We are looking for an Assistant Controller to join our Corporate Finance team in Barrie, ON. Successful candidates hold integrity and accountability while being passionate about driving financial performance and strategic initiatives.
Summary:
The Assistant Controller is a strategic and hands-on individual. This role is responsible for safeguarding the assets of the business, overseeing all fiscal and fiduciary responsibilities for the organization. The Assistant Controller plays a crucial role in managing the financial operations of the group of companies.
Job Duties:
- Safeguard the assets of the group of companies by maintaining, improving, creating and testing proper internal controls
- Lead the preparation of all monthly, quarterly and yearly financial statements, budgets and report. This includes managing the budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis processes, as well as overseeing cash flow management, banking operations, and debt compliance.
- Ensuring reporting is completed to meet company deadlines so that information can be properly used as a meaningful tool to help in the reviews of company performance with the leadership team
- Supervise all accounting functions, A/R, A/P, billing, general ledger, inventory, etc.
- You will ensure compliance with local, provincial, federal tax and reporting requirements as well as bank reporting requirements.
- Serve as an active member of the leadership team contributing to direction and goals of the organizations
- Leading and mentoring the finance team, providing clear direction, development and providing regular feedback both positive and constructive
- Assist in ERP system implementation and optimization.
- Lead all external audits, internal audits as well a providing all documentation required.
Requirements:
- Aspiring professional accounting designation (CPA), University degree in Accounting/Business/Finance, or CPA with 0-5 years experience.
- Strong knowledge of Canadian GAAP, Tax regulations, and financial reporting standards.
- Proven experience with ERP systems is required; Microsoft Navision/Business Central/Quick Books is a definite asset.
- Advanced Microsoft office skills are required (e.g. pivot table, VLOOKUP).
- Experience with Power BI would be an asset.
- Ability to motivate teams to produce quality information and simultaneously manage several projects.
- Experience in the manufacturing industry is highly desirable.
