Binnie is looking for Civil Design Engineer - EIT to join our Highway Design Division full time in our Burnaby and Kamloops office. Our Highway Design team has been recognized for notable projects including the detailed design of over 30 km of Highway 29, the four laning of Highway 1 through Chase, and the Highway 91 and 72nd Avenue interchange in Delta.
You will work closely with our talented and diverse team of experienced Project Managers and Engineers at varied experience levels. This dynamic and challenging role offers excellent mentorship opportunities.
You will work with our supportive team of Engineers and Project Managers. You will carry out design work on projects from conceptual level through to detailed design and construction. This challenging role offers great mentorship opportunities.
YOUR ROLE:
Preparing design drawings using AutoCAD or Civil3D
Performing design work in consultation with the Engineer of Record
Preparing reports, manuals, and technical memorandums
Ensuring quality control procedures are completed as per Binnie’s Professional Practice Management Plan
Ensuring that project designs and calculations adhere to standards
WHAT YOU BRING:
Completed Degree in Civil Engineering
0-3 years of design experience in a civil consulting engineering environment
Registered as an EIT with EGBC
Experience in alternative project design models for a variety of clients is considered an asset
Previous experience in civil engineering environment is preferred
Valid Driver’s License an asset
Exposure to AutoCAD or Civil3D
Strong written communication skills including technical report writing
Excellent time management skills and ability to manage multiple ongoing projects
Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues, clients, other consultants and contractors
Ability to work cooperatively and productively in a team environment
