The NDP Technician - Electrical plays a critical role in ensuring the proper functioning and safety of our buses by maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems and components. This position involves working closely with our engineering and production teams to integrate and test new electrical designs as well as ensuring compliance with safety standards.
POSITION SUMMARY
As a New Product Development (NPD) Technician, you will be responsible to design, build and rigorously test innovative products that address both current demands and future needs of the organization. Your expertise and creativity will be instrumental in driving our mission to deliver cutting-edge solutions and maintain our competitive edge in the industry.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Construct prototype parts, assemblies, and installations based on drawings, sketches, and verbal instructions.
Support and provide feedback to engineering on drawings, designs, and theories of operation, and navigate BOM and engineering drawing systems.
Work with hand and power tools, fabrication equipment, and test equipment, with some lifting and climbing required.
Operate heavy equipment such as forklifts or buses.
Write reports and test documentation, utilizing PC software such as Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Set- up and perform tests according to requested plans.
Participate in project meetings and provide updates on testing progress and outcomes.
Maintain shop and equipment ensure a safe, organized, and efficient working environment.
Become cross trained on all areas within the work area to ensure flexibility and ability to perform a broad range of disciplines.
Diploma in Electrical Engineering Technology or equivalent combination of education and experience.
3 - 5 years of experience in electrical troubleshooting and repairs in a manufacturing or automotive environment.
Strong knowledge of AC and DC circuits, PLCs, and electronic control systems.
Familiarity with CAN bus communication protocols.
Proficient in using electrical diagnostic tools and software.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Working knowledge of warehouse and inventory systems, scientific test methods, Failure Mode Effect Analysis (FMEA), maintenance, and/or lean manufacturing.
Demonstrated ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced work environment.
Motivated self-starter with high level of initiative and ability to work independently.
Ability to work and contribute to a team orientated environment.
Travel may be required for this position
