Hotel Arts is currently looking for a Pastry Chef de Partie to join our Culinary team!. We are looking for someone who will consistently provide quality and production daily in an organized and effective manner. This chef will primarily be working to provide excellent culinary service for our in-house and catered events.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Create and prepare pastries and deserts for restaurants and all events.
Prepare pastries and dessert tastings for potential customers.
Prepare custom wedding cakes when needed.
Create and prepare amenities packages.
Order, inventory and store ingredients needed for pastries and desserts.
Oversee the production of breads and other such pastries.
Assist in managing food and labor costs.
Address guest or client needs with appropriate managers.
Train staff in the art of pastries and develop future pastry chefs.
Assist and supports all kitchen staff by offering advice and direct assistance.
Assist in the inventory and storage of all food ingredients.
Job Requirements:
2-5 years previous pastry chef experience
Previous experience in a hotel/restaurant environment
Diploma/Certification in a Culinary discipline an asset (Red Seal, Pastry & Baking)
1-3 years previous banquet experience considered an asset
Must show creativity, enthusiasm, have high energy levels and be self motivated
Must have proven ability to developing and training staff members
Clear ability to solve problems and find solutions
Flexible weekly schedule based on the demands of our clients (May include evening, weekend, holiday and overnight periods as needed)
