Job Description:
The Beginner Area Supervisor is responsible for supporting the administrative and on snow duties for the beginner area surface lifts and tube park. Duties include, overseeing staff, assisting in the maintenance and up-keep involved in creating a safe and fun learning area and tube park for the use of all of our guests.
Job Responsibilities:
- Manage staff schedules to reflect business volumes
- Initial and ongoing training for all beginner area staff
- Ensuring all safety checks and reports are completed and organized daily
- Ensuring staff are providing a safe and fun experience to all guests in the learning area
- Utilize and update current procedures to efficiently utilize staff while maintaining a safe environment
- Ensuring appropriate procedures are in place to guarantee all tickets are scanned and valid
- Inspection and maintenance of signage, features, and protective pads
- Interact with guests and staff to ensure a positive experience
- Checking emails daily, responding in a timely fashion
- Effective communication with Snow School Management and Mountain Operations regarding daily operations
- Complete other tasks as assigned
Job Requirements/Qualifications:
- Safety orientated and prioritize risk Management
- Organized and able to carry out administrative duties
- Proficient in Microsoft OS
- Strong communication skills to deal with a wide demographic of staff and guests
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills to adapt to a changing environment
- Strong time management skills and ability to work unsupervised
- Good physical condition as requires some heavy lifting and snow removal
- Must enjoy working outdoors in adverse weather conditions
- Beginner / Intermediate level of skiing/snowboarding
- Comfortable using a 2- way radio
- Strong verbal and written English skills required with second language considered an asset
- Energetic and self –motivated
